The Counselor In Training Program (CIT) is for teens that have aged out of Supervised Playgrounds but are not old enough to become an employee. This program is geared to develop leadership skills and a basic understanding of summer camp operations. Although this is an unpaid, volunteer position, CITs will be an important part of Supervised Playgrounds. CITs are responsible for aiding the counselors in every facet of camp such as assisting in set-up/clean-up, participating and leading games, helping campers with small tasks and much more. CITs will assist in the appropriate supervision and interaction of campers and help enhance their camp experience.  Additionally, building experience in the Supervised Playground setting can lead to future employment with the Department of Parks and Recreation.
