Semiquincentennial - Design Contests
As America celebrates its 250th birthday, Upper Moreland Township is excited to invite students in grades K–12 to submit an original Poem, Pin Design, and/or T-Shirt Design that represents what makes our community special as part of our Semiquincentennial celebration. Winning poems will be selected and artists invited to perform their piece live at the celebration, Winning pins and t-shirt will be selected and transformed into commemorative pieces, and the students will be recognized as part of this historical celebration.
This “once-in-a-generation” event marks 250 years of Upper Moreland’s history, community, and pride.
Contest Details:
• Open to Upper Moreland students:
GRADES: Pin: K-5 (The pin background will be white)
T-Shirt: 6-8 (The shirt background will be white) Poem: 9-12
• Selected artists will be recognized at Masons Mill Park on Saturday, May 2 at 4pm
• Poems/designs will be rated on creativity, originality and affect
• Incorporate themes such as community, history, parks, America, or hometown pride
• Submission deadline: April 1, 2026
